The half-degree variance in Earth’s temperature is critical in collaborative efforts to combat climate change. While it may seem like a minor increment, this small difference holds immense significance in terms of environmental impacts

This program aligns with Namaa’s core values, objectives, and mission; as we are dedicated to combating climate change, undertaking proactive measures to mitigate its impact and promote environmental sustainability. Nos Darajeh Program in our efforts to support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 11, 12, and 13, we focus on enhancing human and institutional capabilities in climate change mitigation initiatives. This entails guaranteeing food security, developing green economies, and creating circular communities. Our goals are to safeguard the environment and enable sustainable economic growth by tackling the effects of climate change and advocating for the sustainable management of natural resources. To support sustainable economic development, our programs also prioritize the growth of green markets and the creation of green jobs.

With four projects falling under Nos Darajeh Program, we aim to maintain all our projects and expand our reach to other communities and more people.

The first project is Mdawar this project revolves around upcycling old unused pieces of cloth and jewelry and turning them into unique valuable items such as handbags, hangers, and necklaces we seek to enhance the quality of our upcycling products and to find at least two new markets for our upcycled products.

Project MedSNAIL: we focus on fostering socially and environmentally sustainable development of agro-food SMEs by valorizing traditional Euro-Mediterranean products according to a “slow” approach and short-chain principles.

Circular Economies: are vital for transitioning towards sustainable and resource-efficient models of production and consumption. By prioritizing the reduction, reuse, and recycling of materials, circular economies minimize waste generation and environmental degradation while promoting economic growth.

Agricultural Waste: Agricultural waste significantly intersects with women’s involvement in climate change efforts. Women, often play crucial roles in agricultural activities, Involving women in climate change efforts related to agricultural waste management can yield multiple benefits. Their participation can lead to the adoption of sustainable practices, such as composting or biogas generation, mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and reducing environmental degradation. Furthermore, empowering women in waste management initiatives can enhance their socioeconomic status, contributing to broader resilience and adaptive capacity in the face of climate change impacts. Thus, integrating women into agricultural waste management strategies is crucial for effective climate action and sustainable development.

Nos Darajeh Goals:

• Exploration of linking of traditional and formal knowledge systems through strategic mechanism of formalization for mutual benefit and value for the sustainability of the Jordanian communities
• Identification of national knowledge and development of an autonomous knowledge network
• Development and adoption of new methods for assessing the well-being of our eco-system
• Focus on green work, responsible consumption, and fair trade.
